The 5° Iberoamerican Seminar on Forensic Geosciences aims to present works and efforts focused on generating solutions for searching, recovering, and identifying missing persons.

The Scientific Unit, the Construction of Peace UAN (UniPazUAN), is leading the organization of the scientific and social appropriation meeting. Also, the event is supported by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), founded in 1961, and The Ibero-American Network of Forensic Investigators (RIIF). IUGS came to support the creation of the Initiative on Forensic Geology (IFG) group on February 22, 2011. RIIF began official activities in 2022 and included eight countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, and Portugal. Similarly, The event will be participation from England, Northern Ireland, Italy, and the United States.
The event invites especially the associations of family victims of the conflict and NGOs, as well as national and local entities linked to the University, the state, the private sector, and civil society.
